Learning the piano will give you lifelong enjoyment. It is a door into a world of music which holds literally endless treasures. There is more music written for the piano than any other instrument and its versatility means that it crops up in all sorts of settings. Playing the piano is a skill which is always in demand, whether you want to play in a band, perform with an orchestra, accompany community singing or perhaps even teach it to others yourself! Simply playing for your own pleasure is a joy in itself.

My goal in teaching is to help you discover that enjoyment for yourself and become the best pianist you can be. 

I am happy to teach all levels of ability from beginners to diploma standard and all ages, child or adult. Many students find it helpful to have the goals of graded exams and I can support you in preparing for them including the necessary aural, sight reading, scales and theory knowledge. But you may well have goals of your own aside from formal tests and I am equally happy to help you reach them. Whichever path you choose to follow, I promise it will be fun!

Lessons can take place either at my home where you will have the opportunity to play a new, high quality Bechstein instrument or online via zoom on your own instrument.

Parents are very welcome to stay with their child during the lesson. This can be very helpful in terms of supporting all important practice.
